Leopard Spotlight
We welcomed Kami Bludau, Assistant Principal at Van Vleck Junior High, this 2023-2024 school year. She is doing an amazing job and is well-respected by everyone.
Mrs. Bludau has worked at Van Vleck ISD since 2017 and this her first year as an administrator. She has proudly served all of her years in education at VVISD. She is proud to say that she is a Leopard in all aspects. She loves being part of the VVISD staff. She is married to a VVHS Alumni, Mitchell Bludau, and her children, Layne and Lilyanne, are future Leopards.
She began her career in education teaching at O.H. Herman Middle School. The last six years, she worked at Van Vleck High School where she has taught subjects ranging from World History, U.S. History, AP U.S. History, Psychology, and Sociology. As the U.S. History EOC teacher, she saw success in her students, while integrating data-based and growth mindset decision making in her classroom, reaching as high as a 99% pass rate on the 2022-2023 STAAR EOC - the highest passing rate in Region 3 and one of the highest passing records in the State of Texas. In 2021-2022 she was awarded the VFW Teacher of the Year award.
She attended Lamar University where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Sociology, as well her Master's degree in Education Administration.
Kami lives in Bay City with her husband, Mitchell, and two children, Layne and Lilyanne. The majority of her time is spent serving at Calvary Baptist Church. She also enjoys hunting, baking, reading, crafting, spending time with her family, and being dedicated to the students and staff at VVISD.
